What's the best way to shoot infra red?
I'm not sure (I don't use Canon gear) but I think converting a camera to shoot IR is changing the current filter that blocks IR to another that doesn't, so I guess if it's done right you should use any lens. Again, this is just an opinion

Which prime lens to get after the 18-55mm & 55-250mm?
The Nifty-Fifty is a must-have for it's low price, small size and great image quality

The Tamron 17-50mm is a zoom, not a prime lens

What are the key things that distinguish stock photography from other types?
Actually some stock agencies say they don't need more "people at office" or leaves photos, I imagine their archives are overflowing with those.

What are typical situations where you should use auto-exposure lock (AE-L)?
fwgx: Indeed! Exactly the opposite of my scenario. The truth is I shoot low key photos more often.

In body motor and in lens autofocus motor
You're right. What I meant was generally speaking G lenses usually have internal auto-focus engine.

What can damage a lens?
Beware on backpacks and other camera bags. Sometimes you'll leave it open and stuff flies out of it when you pick it up...
