Wifi is a common protocol for wireless communication between computers and other electronic devices, e.g. cameras and smartphones

Wifi, WiFi or Wi-Fi, is an international standard of wireless digital network that allows devices with the requisite hardware to communicate with other similarly equipped devices without needing connecting wires. It is most commonly used to allow internet access in homes, businesses and public areas, but can also be used to transfer files between devices, for examples cameras, smartphones and tablet computers, or to stream media to playback devices such as speakers or televisions.
