The process of creating a physical printed image from a photograph.

There are several methods of printing commonly used: dye-sublimation, ink-jet and laser printing. Of these, only the first two are capable of producing high quality photographs (with laser printing usually reserved for text and graphics) and ink-jet printing is by far the most common. The early advantages of dye-sublimation over ink-ket have been pretty much eliminated by improvements in ink-jet technology (smaller ink droplet sizes and often a greater number of colours used).
