Camera basics are the timeless and generic aspects of cameras; even as technology evolves, these things will remain essentially the same.
Be careful of this tag. While it's more specific than the discouraged "meta" tags like "beginner" or "subjective" (see discussion here), it should only be used on questions which are really about the fundamentals of the way cameras work and are used.
Particularly, it should not be used to tag questions where the questioner should have looked in the manual for their particular model — the question and answer might be basic, but it's not camera basics.
