Is there a way I can scan an A4 photo at 4800 dpi?

I have the Canon CanoScan LiDE 220 Compact Scanner, it claims to be able to scan at 4800 x 4800 dpi. … Is there anyway to bypass this, how could I scan the entire A4 photo at 4800 dpi? I'd even settle for 2400 dpi, but it won't allow you to scan an A4 photo at that dpi either. …
