I own the Nikkor "af-s 55-200mm f/4-5.6g ed dx" and recently in manual focus mode the ring is not turning and of course, I can not adjust the focus.

So, what may be is blocking the ring? I am familiar with electronics, should I open it and fix it? If yes, what should I check?

  • Can you turn the ring when the lens is not on the camera? If no, then it is not likely a problem of electronics. This said, given the price, it it not worth trying to get it serviced anyway. – xenoid Jul 1 at 10:41
  • @xenoid, no I can not turn the ring when is out of the camera. The ring is turning only when autofocus is selected from the internal motor. – Maverick Jul 1 at 14:24
  • Are you switching to "Manual" on the lens, the camera, or both? – user10216038 Jul 16 at 15:42
  • @user10216038 camera is in manual mode as well as the lens. – Maverick Jul 16 at 19:51
