This is faaaaaar too broad of a question. What's wrong with Canon's Digital Photo Pro? Or Photoshop (Adobe Camera Raw)? Or Lightroom? Or Capture One? Or Raw Therapee? Or Darktable? Or the myriad of others? – Hueco Sep 11 '18 at 22:21

Without being pedantic, I would like to add that software is not "professional". I guess you could say that software meets the needs of a professional, but that's a bit vague. Better to specify your needs. Also, for future questions, it's helpful for everyone - asker, answerers and future readers - if you specify what you have tried already. – osullic Sep 12 '18 at 0:06

It is generally not possible to modify raw files directly, including CR2 files. However, virtually any raw processing software can process CR2 files for export to standard image formats such as JPG, PNG, and TIF.

Hueco lists several:

  • Canon Digital Photo Pro
  • Adobe Camera Raw
  • Lightroom
  • Capture One
  • Raw Therapee
  • Darktable

Others include:

  • DCRaw
  • Ultimate Flying Raw
  • digiKam
