The balcony is mentioned in the question and overlooks a commons where the dance is held. It appears to be open to a hallway. This is consistent with the architecture of many US high schools. There is no mention of a stage or performers or a formal program. | |

The lighting UV, lasers can also apply to an onstage dance. Rather than posting your believes, it may be worth asking a comment on the actual question, as as it stand. It's currently unclear. | |
