Defining HDR Imaging as only the technique that uses 32-bit floating point files that must be tonemapped is a very narrow definition of HDR Imaging. Exposure Fusion is just as much an HDR Imaging technique as tone-mapping a 32-bit floating point file is. So is the dodging and burning Ansel Adams and others did in the early/mid 20th century. So is combining parts of two differently exposed images of seascapes that Gustave LeGray did in the 1850s. | |
