Can I use the Nikon ML-L3 remote to do long exposures of d5200 with ML-l3a D5200?

Can I use Nikonthe Nikon ML-L3 Remote Control to take exposures for about 10 to 15 mins-15 minute exposures with my Nikon D5200.? If yes, then shallmust I have to keep the remote pressed during that entire period, or whether I can leave exposure on, while pressingI lock it oncesomehow and shut exposure after 10 to 15 mins by again pressingpress it. Need again to stop the exposure? Need help.
