Thanks a lot, I know that Raw data has the same number of pixel but more bit for channel I've edited the question so is more clear the point, is only this thing that make Raw shot so slow?

I've a Sony DSC-F828 and when I shoot in raw it takes a lot of time to write to the card. Is this only due tobecause the larger file sizehas much more data? Will connecting the camera to a PC reduce the time it takes to write one photo to disk? Or using a buffer?
