Just that, even though pictorialism has passed away as a movement, does not mean it is all gone. Only so recently as 30 years ago I was doing it myself, just like many others. Digital photography does it differently, but the essence is still there. But the question, and answer, is about the movement and the reasons behind it, and yes, I am done with editing. :)
