Jun 30, 2011 at 0:41 comment added rfusca @JeffAtwood - I am sorry that the user left and I do regret my choice of diction there for sure (it was beyond my edit time for removing the words myself once I had decided against it). I'll try to be more tactful in the future then.
Jun 30, 2011 at 0:13 comment added Jeff Atwood @rfusca FYI you blew up this user. I think you could have been a bit more tactful in the way you expressed the information. (and I edited your comment to remove "piss poor")
Jun 29, 2011 at 20:45 comment added jrista @Scrappydog: The general policy on StackExchange in general is that any linked articles be partnered with quotations of the most relevant parts. The goal there is to preserve that most valuable information in case the linked article goes off line for any reason, which would thereby make the answer you have provided pretty useless. This is not a PhotoSE thing, its a StackExchange thing. @rfusca was quite cordial in his initial request, and is simply following the overarching rules of StackExchange.
Jun 29, 2011 at 20:40 comment added rfusca @Scrappydog - I'm sorry you feel that its not welcoming - for that I truly am. But frankly, I tried to be nice. No apologies for encouraging you to provide useful information.
Jun 29, 2011 at 20:05 comment added Scrappydog My what a welcoming community you are building here at Photography... I can see why it's not very active... I probably won't be back... but I guess I wasn't very welcome in the first place... Good luck...

Doing illustrations and diagrams is most definitely not beyond SE - see photo.stackexchange.com/questions/6598/… and photo.stackexchange.com/questions/11878/… and photo.stackexchange.com/questions/12200/… ...
Jun 29, 2011 at 19:15 comment added Scrappydog @rfusca Opinion noted... But in this case the link includes some great illustrations to explain the answer that go beyond what we can do here on a StackExchange site. If somebody else wants to write a better answer great, but at the time I responded there were no other answers and this is a great article.
Jun 28, 2011 at 22:03 comment added rfusca Hi @Scrappydog - Can you summarize some of the article, rather than just dropping the link? That way our users don't have to navigate off site to get the 'gist' and we guard against the link eventually dying and this becoming useless internet clutter. Thanks!
