Alternatively reduce your ISO to slow your shutter into flash range, underexpose to darken the background and use manual flash ,or possibly second curtain flash, from the side to bring up the water exposure. | |

(The effects will be quite different. Experiment to see what you like.) Set the flash power manually or you're going to drive yourself nuts fighting with the automatic exposure of the camera. | |
