Genericized titles to be model-agnostic, so we're not going to duplicate this for every mode of vivitar lens/Minolta body that could be asked; edited in info from "answer" that is likely to be deleted. :)

Made title mode-agnostic to genericize so we aren't duplicating this Q&A for *every* possible model of Vivitar lens X to camera body Y.

Apr 18, 2019 at 20:49 comment added inkista @flolilo, not actually a duplicate of the X/Y Q&A (though closely related), because that's about figuring if the lens/camera mount combination allows adapting, not identifying the lens mount.

Apr 18, 2019 at 18:19 comment added Michael C Tony, can you post more details about your lens? All of the writing around the front and on the lens barrel? There are way too many possible different Vivitar 70-210mm zoom lenses that have been made over time for us to guess. We also need to know what kind of camera mount it fits without an adapter.
Apr 18, 2019 at 15:08 comment added rackandboneman At least this camera model CAN be made to release with a purely mechanical adapter. Whether a manual focus only lens will be fun to use with an AF-oriented film SLR is another matter.... Also, a 70-210 a mount lens probably can be had secondhand for the price of an adapter, unless your Vivitar is M42....
Apr 18, 2019 at 11:24 comment added rackandboneman Which lens mount does your copy of the 70/210 (of which there exist at least 6 versions which EACH come in a handful of different lens mounts) have?
