Sep 28, 2018 at 2:38 comment added Michael C @JonathanReez You've got it backwards. EF and EF-S lenses can be used on EF-M cameras with an adapter that spaces the back of the lens the necessary 44 mm in front of the sensor. The obverse is not the case. There's no adapter available that can place an EF-M lens 18mm in front of the sensor on an EOS DSLR.

Aug 7, 2018 at 14:47 comment added Crowley @JonathanReez If you are aware of the issue, then you will measure. If you aren't there is the chance you do the damage accidentally. And if you are about to try to mount EF-S lens on EF body there is high chance you know why you are doing so.
Aug 7, 2018 at 7:17 comment added JonathanReez You can measure the depth of the lens before mounting it

Aug 7, 2018 at 7:07 comment added Crowley @JonathanReez I agree. But is it worth the risk? (If you are bloody sure the lens do fit then go for it)
Aug 7, 2018 at 7:04 comment added JonathanReez @Crowley not all of them do.
Aug 7, 2018 at 7:03 comment added Crowley @JonathanReez EF-S lenses can go deeper in the body than EF does because they are designed for smaller mirrors. The last thing you want is mirror hitting the inmost part of the lens...
Aug 7, 2018 at 7:02 comment added JonathanReez @bogl nope, EF-M too

Aug 6, 2018 at 18:05 comment added JonathanReez EF-M lenses can be used on EF cameras with an adapter that ignores the EF-S pin which prevents EF-S lenses from going into EF bodies. EF-S can also be used in EF bodies if you remove the pin: photo.stackexchange.com/questions/34235/…
