comment Can I achieve infinity focus from Auto focus?
First things first, never rely on the positioning of the infinity (or other) symbol being acurate, particularly on cheaper lenses.

comment Can I achieve infinity focus from Auto focus?
You might want to re-word your actuay question, as its like asking what is the difference between Darjeeling tea and a cat. Stick to one question per, erm, question please.

Have you tried the obvious? take it to a camera shop and get them to have a look at it?

comment How do I print in a wide aspect ratio?
I love messing about with printers, sort of hardware hacking. I managed to get my epson to print on sheet metal once :-) I cant answer your question but will say that feeding it the wrong settings may well work, so long as it can grab the leading edge ok. However I personally dislike HP printers as they almost exclusively front-feed, and struggle with photo papers.

comment Paper for Pigment vs Dye Inks?
Certainly from a longevity point of view I would always pick pigment on archival paper, but dye can often give better brighter colours on photo prints if you arent too bothered about handing them down to your grand-children in your will!!

comment Paper for Pigment vs Dye Inks?
Yes the difference is very noticeable - The epson R800 actually has a clear ink, basically a varnish, to combat this effect.

comment What is the difference between UHS-I & UHS-II Memory Cards for Canon 550D T2i
What do you mean by night shots are slow? are day shots faster? on the Nikons there is a low light anti-noise thing which takes a few seconds per shot, maybe this is your problem... as (negating shutter speed) a night shot shouldnt take any longer to save to the card than a day shot.

comment How is a Bayer filter manufactured?
Nice link - However the article is now 16 years old, so given the MASSIVE increase in ccd/cmos chip density since that, this may not be the current method... for example is it physically possible to create a metal mask fine enough for today's chips?

comment How do I autofill the copyright metadata for the current Lightroom catalog?
Assuming the "date taken" is still intact im sure it would be possible, but i have never tried scripting in LR... Hope someone can help you.

comment What am I legally entitled to do with a photograph I've purchased?
as long as it is 100% for your own personal use (not for public display), I dont see an issue, but it will depend on the terms of the sale as to what you can do with it - is it a physical print or a digital copy?

Oooh good spot! @dav1dsm1th - oddly the actual bayer filter wiki makes no mention of the process, i'll have a read...

This may be of interest... "Panchromatic cells": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayer_filter#.22Panchromatic.22_cells

comment What options are there for a self-hosted image (file) archive for clients?
Could you not make something? (although I note you say you are a web DESIGNER, not a web DEVELOPER) - I am both so would make something.

comment Why is a Bayer filter with three colors(RGB) preferred over one with two colors and unfiltered (RBNeutral)?
yes the invisible spectrum is blocked, but surely all of the other visible wavelengths inbetween reg, green, blue would skew the results, as the estimation of green would be based purely on the luminance of ALL received light...?? im interested to know the answer to this one ! :-)

Are you sure you can determine G from N-R-B??? dont forget the bare sensor is sensitive to a wide wavelength spectrum, not just R/G/B...
