What are the constructional differences between a macro and a regular lens? Perfect! Additionally any idea on which aspect of the physical lens design your comment "macro lenses are usually optimised to have a flat field" addresses? |

What are the constructional differences between a macro and a regular lens? Thanks for the input! Btw by "....certain distances between the frontal lens element and the sensor" I meant that in all macro lenses generally the lens itself is positioned farther from the sensor. This is the same as using extension tubes or bellows (on a regular/simple lens) which in turn reduce the minimum focusing distance required between the lens and the subject. Hope this makes sense :) |

Optimal DSLR settings for an Indoor car show? Alright, so I ended up taking both the lenses and boy oh boy it was a nightmare shooting with the 35mm mouonted on the cam. It is just too hard to frame your subject (cars in this context) with people zig zagging all over the place. Slotted the 18-200mm back on for the rest of the show and felt at ease.....but dont get me wrong; the clean shots i got with the 35 mm did come out pretty good! |

Why won't my D3100 won't take flash pictures even when focused? Are you taking the minimum focusing distance into consideration? As 2 stroker commented, if it cant lock it wont fire. Try varying the distance and see if it makes a difference. |

Is there a D-SLR that can record video with continuous autofocus? @Ali Yes the D7000 support continuous autofocus on video, but its not what you'd expect. Its quite finicky and there is always the induced noise. I just use manual focus myself. |
