comment Is there free software to compare gamuts?
Mac's built-in ColorSync utility shows this. You can pan and rotate around the 3D plot. It is also possible to overlay one 3D plot over another. Is that what you're looking for?

comment New to photography: Buy a full feature body or an entry level one
Hi, if you're curious I suggest using the search function of this site first. That would yield you previous questions like this one, or this one. Or perhaps this question will be useful.

comment Is a DSLR required for making a DIY 3D scanner?
I do not know which DIY instructions you've read, so can't judge why they direct you to a DSLR. However, it might have something to do with the fact that DSLR's allow for manual focus, full manual exposure controls and (often) tethering to a computer.

comment How can I find a petal-style lens hood for my Nikkor 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6 (or any lens which doens't have one)?
Not an answer, but perhaps helpful: lenshoods.net/nikon.php provides diagrams for lens hoods that you can print out on cardboard an cut-out. Your lens is not listed, but maybe a similar lens is listed under the other brands?

@MichaelClark I did not find such a setting in LR.

comment Do the clipping indicators in Lightroom show that the value is at the maximum, or beyond?
@Octopus I do not understand what you are saying. The math will push what? What does full white mean? 100% white? When I tested it (in B&W) I saw that a 99.5% value already triggered a clipping warning.

My simple tests in LR seem to show that.

I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because I think this question fits better at law.stackexchange.com
