comment When lens pricing is too good to be true…avoid?
Also, make sure it's not a cheaper version of the same lens. For example Canon makes 4 versions of the 70-200L, from the 70-200L f/4 which runs around $1000 or less to the 70-200L f/2.8 IS II which is usually over $2000.

comment Is there an easy way to convert all my photos from .NEF to .JPG for upload to Facebook?
Lightroom is the "best" way since it can convert and upload in basically one step. Photoshop or bridge batch processing is your "cheapest" way, but requires an extra step or two.

comment Rule of thirds — is there any scientific proof behind it?
Perhaps, but the Rule of Thirds it still often produces golden ratio compliant images. Intended or not, it can be argued that it is still a less complicated method of employing the golden ratio. Also, the golden ratio (as an aesthetic) is just a name for a compositional layout that was commonly found in art and nature. It just might not have been a formal concept before a certain period, but it was still there.

comment What image quality is lost when re-saving a JPEG image in MS Paint?
Quality will definitely be lost. Even at maximum quality, jpeg will alter the image slightly, every time. At lesser settings, like what MS Paint uses, it will alter the image significantly.
