comment Is there a printing lab that post prints direct to customer without the invoice?
One item I forgot to mention in my original answer. The top places allow you to get several samples either free or very reduced cost to help you get your settings down before printing.

I like SmugMug, too, but I'm pretty sure they use Bay Photo for their "pro" prints.

comment Will I benefit from using very fast (> 30 MB/s) SD cards in a non-UHS enabled camera?
By orders of magnitude. Undoubtedly they are using slower ram than what you'll find in a modern computer but it's still much faster than any nvram. Although it wouldn't surprise me if there is a small transitional buffer in nvram but I haven't looked into that before.

comment Can someone identify this particular photo effect?
Yes, Clarity is available in Camera Raw plugin in CS5. So the easiest way to do it in PS is to open the file in Camera Raw and adjust clarity. However, in my experience clarity won't give the same result as Topaz Adjust. And the newer Camera Raw (Lightroom 4) changes the algorithm of clarity so it will do even less faux HDR.

comment Why buy camera equipment during travel in Japan?
Keep in mind the warranty will only be valid within Japan. It's essentially gray market elsewhere...

Well, it's more like the particular settings used within Topaz Adjust. It's like HDR. You kind of do a formula to get the look you need for the shot. They have a number of presets which people often use as starting points and customize as desired.

comment Why no zoom lenses below f/2.8?
Weight and cost are the biggest reasons.
