Why are there no digital cameras with ultra-bright integrated lenses, like f1.0, f1.2 or even f1.4? Correct. Canon used to offer a 50mm F0.95, it was fast, but soft. Even the new Canon 50mm F1.0 is much softer than the F1.2 or F1.4 |

Recommended driverless GPS loggers? You use Finder or Windows Explorer or whatever your OS uses to copy files. Or you can just drag and drop them. Standard operating system stuff that any Mac, Windows or Linux user uses all the time. The AMOD device is simply seen as a disk with files on it. |

Is there a way to use Canon 18-200 EF-s lens on Canon 6D full frame body? It was a mediocre lens when new. They sell for about $400 in excellent condition. Canon makes lots of great lenses, this is not one. Just sell it. Get a 50mm F1.4 if you can't afford anything else. |

Do I risk damaging my camera if I use an aftermarket AC adapter? "any risk" is too subjective to be a good SE topic. All of life is a risk. There is a non-zero risk of damage from Canon branded stuff, let alone nameless clones. Are you really able to objectively evaluate the risk? Do you expect us to evaluate it for you? |

What is the Canon 50d made from? As others have said, the frame is alloy. What, exactly, do you mean by "primarily"? By weight? by volume? By what you can touch? Why is this important to you? The 50D is a 6 or 7 year old design. I love mine, but they are only sold on the used market. |

Why do Canon EF and EF-S lenses exhibit the same crop factor? You are confusing things. From the same tripod location, the same 70mm lens will take the same image. Consider a photo of a person. Their head might take up all of an APS-C sensor, and only a very small part of a medium format image/sensor. On the medium format, it will probably be at least a 3/4 shot, due to the larger sensor. But the subject's head will be exactly the same size in all formats. |

What makes sound in a DSLR camera? DSLRs have lots of big parts that move and make noise. The mirror is the worst. I've never seen a credible way to lower the real noises that keep the full functionality. So for quiet shooting, don't use a DSLR. The noise from a flash recharging its cap is the vibrations of the switcher circuit that converts 5v to 300v that the main capacitor needs. |

What makes sound in a DSLR camera? The Fukifilm X100s is getting rave reviews for its silent operation. It has a control for an electronic sound that can mimic a loud shutter, because the actual camera is silent. Thus, the real answer is don't use a DSLR. |

Why is the Canon Digital Rebel XT so loud? The XT is built to meet a very low price. It has nothing it doesn't need. A nice way to quiet it is to use a 50D or 60D |

How was contrast increased back in the film days? Do you want to know how to change it after the photo is taken? One of the big reason to select different films is to get different contrast ratios (which comes along with different ASA speeds) |

upgrading from kit lens This answer is all opinion. "Horrible" and "optics... as good as a L series" need references or substantiation. |

Using a vivitar 283 flash with a Sony NEX 6 Good approach. Normal problem solving would be to just use a PC-sync cable and make sure that works. Remove triggers from path. But you really need a voltage isolator, like bhphotovideo.com/c/product/245292-REG/… |

What do you take on a hike as a landscape photographer? Here is an article: photographylife.com/how-to-use-a-monopod and a video youtube.com/watch?v=1KfR8mM4dtI One huge advantage of the X100s is that it has no mirror flapping up and down, so you can hand hold it with much better results. |
