comment Why are all my smartphone photos coming out near-white?
You say it was after changing headphones that this happened? Could you have damaged the socket, allowing light leakage into the body of the camera? Easy test - try placing some black elecrical or gaffer (slightly stickier) tape over the headphone socket, try taking another photo. Does this phenomenon still happen?!

comment Why use higher ISO when using a tripod and the object is static?
I really think you're reading too much into the settings. This may be something as simple as that he had the camera set to ISO 640 for something else and just didn't change it.

+1 for RTFM....

comment Replace existing 2006 Canon Rebel XT or repair it?
You should explain what the acronym MILC actually stands for.

comment I'm having issues with flash in DF.
Glad it's not just me wondering about what DF is. Please explain more clearly...

comment Why do my photos appear more in focus when I use a long exposure?
Whilst I understand that English may not be your first language, are you able please to expand on your question? Give an example (an example photo) with the settings used to take it. As it stands, your question makes little sense.

comment How many RAW images should I be able to take on a Canon 6d with a 32GB card?
I use a 32Gb card in my 5D Mk III and can comfortably take over a thousand. At approx 2mp less than mine, you shouldn't have any issues. That said, the exact number will vary as what you take will affect each image file size. Format the card in-camera and see if that helps.

comment Why can't I access Single Point Spot AF even when it is enabled on my 5D Mark III?
You are welcome... The little 'AF grid' icon next to that button on the back gives a clue as to its purpose ;-) Plus, hate to say it, but this is all in the manual ;-)

comment Do I need a filter for my prime lens in order to protect it from dust, splashes, etc?
Yep. Personal choice. I had an EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM that fell forward onto sand and I was VERY GLAD I had a filter on as the filter was scratched to hell but the lens was fine! Cheaper to replace a filter. HOWEVER, I appreciate that there is a very minor loss of image quality too. You can help mitigate this by using GOOD QUALITY, MULTI-COATED filters, ie - not the cheapest ones!! But like, Hoya Pro-1, Hoya HD, or B+W, etc.

comment Why is Lightroom 5 running crazy-slow?
Crikey - you're moaning about it taking "nearly a full second" to switch modules.... I DREAM of that kind of performance (2010 MacBook Pro, 2.66ghz Core2Duo, 8Gb RAM, 7200rpm drive, Mavericks)... :-)

comment Canon 24-105 lens a good choice for Canon 1000D?
+1 for recommending the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM (though it is not officially an L but it acts like it!). A superb choice if staying in the APS-C realm with the 7D. I used that lens with both Canon 350D and 7D, and it was a real star. Outstanding image quality, large aperture, and image stabilisation.

comment Check free space on Nikon DSLR
This is kind of frustrating - I totally understand the OP's question and why he would want to know. I check mine too! However on my Canon I can see this by going to the Format Card menu option (but not formatting it obviously) - but the screen before it formats shows a bar showing how full the card is from 0-100%. Looked in the Nikon D5100 manual online and can't find any equivalent.

comment How to explain to your client that a camera flash does no harm to infant?
Agreed. I have done baby shoots in the past, and always try to diffuse the light from a flash, either with softbox, or bounce. Although it may be safe, even I would not wish to point a powerful flash gun directly at such young, tiny eyes... Besides, a nice even light is better than direct brightness of a flash pointed directly at the subject (no matter what it is) anyway... :)

comment How long batteries last with 5DMIII off?
agreed. The LP-E6's last forever and having two of them in a grip like that should definitely last darn near indefinitely as you say.

I would have said months in my comment too except that I've never left it that long without using it -- lol! :)

comment How long batteries last with 5DMIII off?
Should last a hell of a lot longer than that! I have the 5DMIII with genuine batteries and genuine grip, and I can leave it weeks and when I turn it on they are exactly the same as they were (not that I've really checked properly)...

Should also add if you are the sole photographer, make sure your camera is in good working order, make sure your batteries are fully charged (and spares too if you have them), and if possible, have a back-up camera too. The LAST THING you want is a problem with your camera, or for the battery to die on you!!
