comment Is camera damage causing these severe diagonal lines from concentrated light sources?
Ditto to the previous comment, but also wanted to ask if you are taking this shot through your bedroom window could it be the glass of the window causing these rather than the cleaning of your lens?

comment Do differences in color saturation across Nikon and Canon pictures matter?
Note that if you shoot RAW, then picture styles are irrelevant as your workflow software will ignore it, and it's down to you to play with the colours as you see fit :-)

comment Is there any damage that a lens can have that is unrepairable?
Ha ha - for UK readers, this reminds me of Trigger in Only Fools and Horses -- Trigger claims that he's had his road sweeper's broom for 20 years. But then he adds that the broom has had 17 new heads and 14 new handles. "How can it be the same bloody broom then?" asks Sid the café owner. Trigger produces a picture of him and his broom and asks: "what more proof do you need?"

comment What precautions should I take when taking a camera into humid conditions?
I've a friend who took his E1 on a transatlantic sailing trip. He claimed that thing got soaked, rained on, sprayed, and generally took all sorts of abuse on that trip, and yet it performed without a hitch, kept on truckin' and works to this very day without issue! :)

There is no EF 17-105 - you mean the 24-105?

comment What is the best lens correction software which integrates with Aperture 3?
As I said before - I knew when I posted it, it wasn't exactly what you were looking for as it wasn't a plugin, but at least it gives you options :)

comment Where do these “redshifts” and “blueshifts” come from?
@rbx You notice it on any areas of hard contrast, deliniating lines between bright and dark. On parts of a photo where there is more a graduation from one colour to the next it is not noticable. @ DetlevCM - thanks for the clarification, though you understand my point that they have tried to account for it in some way :)
