Amateurs talk about gear, pros talk about picture sales, photographers talk about light :)

comment How many stops can a digital camera capture?
It seems like DXO is now more accepted source than it was by the time of original answer when I had to edit it out because of the downvotes;)

Lets remove it then.

comment How can I make extra money with photography?
The other issue is that if you start to monetize your photos, they'll probably soon look like all that boring stuff on the stock sites. You'll "create images that sell".

@Imre - works for me.

comment What camera settings should be used to capture sky shots without over exposing the clouds?
@dpollitt - ND is useless in high contrast situation, you need graduated ND.

Why don't you use the EOS 300 exposure meter?

comment Why pick DPP over Aperture?
On some rare occasions DPP has given me the colors I can't replicate with other converters - using 2-3 sliders instead of 20-30.

Sadly, I missed my flying chance last summer. But I'll be looking into this again in the next season.

Changed non-bayer to monochrome. Doesn't change my point though.

comment Replacing my XXD with a 7D?
When talking about MIII one should also consider that cameras aren't really available for sale on the announcement day.

comment What are the cons of a 5D Mark II? How does it compare to other FF bodies from Canon?
@sebastien.b - just put it into perspective - @Matt Grum above complains about 145ms of viewfinder blackout, 1.4 seconds is ages compared to that.

comment What are the cons of a 5D Mark II? How does it compare to other FF bodies from Canon?
@che - sadly on MkI the first level of magnification does not show full frame. @sebastien - the question was about downsides, so I don't see a reason to argue here. For me the playback time is a major annoyance, as I've been using other cameras that don't have it.

@che - that's good trick, I'll try it on my MkI too.
