comment Camera System for an enthusiast
that's a big difference. For that much more, I'd go iwth the 60D.

The two bodies I recommend to folks right now: 5Ti for entry level and 70D for higher end APS sensor. The 7D is an older body due for retirment, the 60D is a good, solid camera, but the 70D is enough better that it's worth buying instead because the cost difference isn't big.

comment Can film be considered to have infinite resolution as opposed to digital sensors?
we also need to remember that lenses don't have infinite resolution, either. So even if the film or sensor had infinite detail, the image sent to it through the lens won't.

comment How can I get my Canon camera or body replaced warranty for battery drain, when Canon says it is fine?
are you sure you don't have a failing battery? How old are the batteries in question? they do wear out, after all.

comment How to calibrate a printer and monitor if neither are very good?
also don't forget that sites like borrowlenses or lensrentals.com RENT calibrators and that can save money over buying one you'll only use rarely.

I'd suggest seriously considering upgrading your monitor. Good IPS monitors are increasingly inexpensive (the Dell 23" IPS ultrasharp is $200US today; I use it's bigger brother). You're better off with a better monitor than trying to calibrate a bad one, spend the money on the monitor before a calibrator.

comment Managing multiple catalogs in Lightroom? Between external hard drive and laptop
this is what I do. A small working set on the laptop disk that can carry with me. the larger set of images not in active projects on the disk (in my case a NAS). With smart previews, works like a charm. Use a single catalog, carry what you need while mobile, store the rest on the external drives.

comment Better to buy an older high-level camera or newer entry-level camera?
I think a lot depends on the specific cameras involved and the quality of the sensors. If the expensive camera is two sensor generations back from the newer entry level camera, I might well go for the entry level to get the improved sensor, because ultimately, that's a huge part of the final image quality. I don't think you can generalize this, it depends on the units involved.
