Is the angle of view actually different on APS-C? So to summarize: The angle of view, depth of dield, and compression are the same for all 50mm lenses, whether the lens was designed for full frame or crop sensor. But because you're only seeing the center portion of the image with a crop sensor, you have to farther from the subject to get the same field of view. That farther distance changes the depth of field and compression. But the angle of view of the lens is not affected by where you stand. |

How did Suren Manvelyan create the macro pictures of eyes? I don't think the catch light is an LED panel, I think it is a grid (see link). That would make the side light very directional which would further enhance the texture. Also, I'm sure she used a narrow aperture to keep everything in focus. adorama.com/alc/0013664/article/Shooting-with-Grids-AdoramaTV |

Post-processing to remove background reflections on bald heads Maybe next time a polarizing filter could help to reduce the reflection. |

Are there DSLR lenses that don't allow for manual focus? The GREAT thing about old MF lenses is that you get a high quality lens for a very low price. As mentioned below, some lenses to MF better than others ... old MF-only lenses do it very well. The only disadvantage I know of is that they don't have autofocus. |
