comment Long exposures: Gorillapod or Beanbag for support?
Most soft objects I used have some sort of 'creep' that will ruin the shot for exposure of 1 to 30 seconds. I guess the beanbag SPECIALLY designed for photography should not have this issue, but I think chances are gorillapod will offer a much steadier stance.

comment Can I estimate the light gathering power of a lens by measuring size of entrance pupil?
How about mounting your camera on a tripod and using a zoom lens and compare the focal length of the two lens to try to guess the focal length of your unknown lens? It should work and you should get a reasonably accurate calculation.

comment How does autofocus point selection relate to manual focus?
@EsaPaulasto Yes I agree, however in practice unless you mark your camera and intentionally pivot it perfectly, the distance between the subject and camera is almost always affected anyway.

Perhaps from a bad inner linning of black non-reflective material? I can imagine if the inner side of the tube is coated silver it would be a huge problem, surely no such silly things exist? perhaps? lol

@MichaelNielsen You would be surprised how many people think otherwise.
