comment Could you recommend an under-$30 tripod for a DSLR?
I bought the revelli (first option in my question) and man it is rock solid. I have never used a tripod before though but I absolutely had no problem with it in terms of stability. Downside it it is not quickest to adjust but then this is a new baby.

comment What software can I use to process RAW images?
Actually I don't think any software came with my Nikon ( I would expect it personally). I tried to download it online since I am registered user (with my camera code) but I am not able to download anything free. It would be good if someone can point me to one online from Nikon.

comment Should I use RAW or JPEG for wedding photography?
One of the difference that I noted between RAW and JPEG on my camera is JPEG has vivid colors. RAW is very light colored. I know this could be a camera setting but I don't know what really make it have stronger colors. I am using auto setting with no flash. BTW I have no knowledge of how to fix a RAW (which software do I use?).

This answer explains the business decision very well. Although I disagree with a few things. 1) My Nikon-D5100 shoots equally fast in RAW as in JPEG (I believe). 2) I do not really need high speed photography for this event. I just need good shots. I will stick with RAW for brides Photoshoot and JPEG for the rest of event and guests. I mainly use google picassa for editing and I Probably be able to adjust a few things in Picassa even with JPEG.

comment If I'm happy with the speed, do I really need a faster class 10 or 30MB/s card for my DSLR?
@Gapton, I know. That's why I tagged this question with nikon-d5100 that I am using

I took 9 shots in quick successsion at 2.2 f/sec and I could go on. My main concern is, will my images be compromised/damaged if the write speed is too slow. It looks like even if it is class 2, if you dont feel any delay in camera functions, looks like everything will be fine. So you do not really need a class 10 or ever higher 30 MB/sec rate.

The camera writes about 50MB/sec in one sec. Class 2 is capable of only 4MB/sec. May be a good quality card matters. In this case my class 2 came from samsung is probably a better card than a cheap class 2.
