Is it normal for a Nikon lens to make noise when zooming in or out? 0 down vote accept I would accept it as answer as I don't have experience with any other DSLR. But I wonder how things will be on Nikon D3100 where you cannot connect an external mic. This seams to be a real drawback for serious video shots at wedding, picnic trips for example. You can't have the zoom make noise |

What type of effects can I obtain with UV, FLD, CPL filters if any? Exactly, the links are answers. Would wouldn't it be better to put the links in an answer and then close it. Thanks |

What automatic modes are appropriate, if any, for outdoor vs. indoor situations? If a question has any learning value, it is a good question. It may be basic one from a newbie, and for an expert it would sound like garbage. I didn't meant to survey people but just get an idea what modes people use so I can use those too. By the way a well formed answer which addressed the modes in sunlight as well as indoors can totally be viewed as accepted answer. Anyways thanks every one here. |

What automatic modes are appropriate, if any, for outdoor vs. indoor situations? I asked this question from anyone, an expert, an intermediate user and and a newbie, just wanted to get a sense what ppl use most of the time, esp expert. If I get "Most of the time on AUTO", is an acceptable answer to me. One does not have to go into detail. But I knew I will get some help as people generally want to be helpful. For your satisfaction, you can close my question and I will take my questions elsewhere. Thanks |

What automatic modes are appropriate, if any, for outdoor vs. indoor situations? @Itai, so I now know I have to play with my camera and produce best pictures without using the auto mode. I wouldn't have known this if I didn't ask this question. mattdm - that question does cover part of it but I asked this question in non technical general way which every body can answer. His question is more technical. |
