comment Is it possible to modify a camera by changing cmos sensor?
...plus the skills to reverse-engineer the hardware between the sensor and the firmware and make whatever changes will be needed to accommodate the new sensor.

comment How do I identify the lens mount used for an old Soligor lens?
KEH has a pretty extensive identification guide, too.

comment How can I edit the capture date in Nikon raw file
@RFlack: It's very rare that a manufacturer doesn't follow the standard, especially for the basics. EXIF also includes escape hatches for vendor-specific data, some of which ExifTool understands.

ExifTool doesn't support cameras, it supports file formats that contain EXIF data. I've been using it for over a decade and haven't known it to not work with anything it claims to support. If you run exiftool filename.nrw, it will dump out the tags in the file. You can use that to figure out what tags your camera sets and see the effects of changes. You'll want to tinker with copies of a few files while you get it figured out. It's a very powerful tool, and like powerful tools, it has a learning curve. You'll get there.

Is there some reason a DSLR in live view mode (mirror raised, shutter open) won't do the job?

@Szabolcs: Oops. Meant to say look under the "Accessories" tab on the page for your camera on Nikon's website.

comment External power for compact camera?
@Szabolcs: Some light Google-fu. Look under the "Accessories" tab. I have similar kit for a couple of my cameras.

@ColeJohnson: Part 15's must-accept-interference requirement is for interference from other Part 15 devices. Last I checked, the FCC had no jurisdiction over Mother Nature and basic physics. :-)
