What are the international translations for Canon DSLR body names? I wish they'd stop doing this. Everyone says "XTi" this "XSi" that and I have no clue what model they're talking about. Same with the KISS thing in Japan. |

Can I get high resolution photo from video? Not unless you're shooting with a RED camera. |

What makes the Nikon 1 V1 different from Nikon's existing DSLRs? @seanmc Remember that this is a 2.7x crop factor, so the 70-200mm equivalent for the 1 series would be a 25-75mm lens. Currently there's a 10-100mm and also a 30-110mm. |

Does my crop sensor camera actually turn my lenses into a longer focal length? Yep. Exactly the same composition (disregarding difference in sensor quality). Snip snip! |

For a novice to flash, what color correction gels would be best to experiment with? Yeah. A CTO gel (in whatever strength) will shift the colour toward the cooler, but more orange tungsten white balance. |

Is there a difference between a large, far light source, and a small, close one? @ysap they wouldn't look the same size. The lines going from the sources to the subject are different angular sizes. I'm not arguing that the diagram is incorrect. It isn't. But the question isn't the same as what that diagram is depicting. |

Is there a difference between a large, far light source, and a small, close one? @ysap the question is talking about the difference between light sources that are visibly the same size to the subject, being physically different in size depending on distance. Your example doesn't show this, instead showing the difference between apparently different sized light sources. |

Is there a difference between a large, far light source, and a small, close one? The size does not matter. It's the apparent size, measured as an angle (10 degrees at 10 meters is going to be larger physically than 10 degrees at 5 meters, but given the power to reach the same exposure at 0 meters), the difference is only in how quickly the light diminishes as it carries on past it's subject. |

What would be a suitable camera for a non-aspiring beginner travel photography? I think they're designed like that (apart from the super zoom lens) to make it look like they're big and flashy when in reality they still have the tiny, noisy sensors. |
