Do you mean the map tab? Are you online? The map is a web service.

comment How can I effectively change the background of a portrait in Photoshop?
This is done by painstakingly masking and brushing for hours and hours but the background should also match the exposure, colour, tone and focus of the original background. Please provide an example of your work.

comment Where can I buy a 77mm 12 - 15 stop ND filter at a reasonable price.
@dpollitt LOL! Well, technically. I bought it, which means I replaced it. But apparently this lens is SO HOT that it's on back order. At the same time I shipped my 17-40 mm to a buyer on the weekend so I don't actually have a wide angle to shoot with right now... And we had aurora dancing in the sky last night and forecast is looking good today. Sigh.

Thanks Matt! Like the suggestion of using intervalometer and stacked shorter exposures in daylight. I will definitely try that.

@jdlugosz - excellent idea! Even for stacking gel on the rear with regular glass on the front. Unfortunately, I sold my Canon 17-40mm f4 which did have a slot for gel to replace it with the new Canon 16-35 f4 which doesn't have that slot on the rear.

I didn't ention this in my question but i've considered it in the past. Welding glass requires too much post processing to remove colour cast and usually a farily large and custom made rig. I will perhaps make one and try this at some point in the future with the Samyang 14mm ultra wide purely as an experiment but I was hoping for a simple solution for my primary 16-35mm lens.

@MattGrum - That's a fair assumption. Please make this an answer and I will mark it as answered.

comment How to brighten stars in Photoshop?
Thanks Jon! Excellent, in-depth, answer as always. BTW, Love you recent astro-photography. Truly stunning! I should have mentioned that stars in my photos are secondary to composition and the landscape and the purpose of attempting to brighten stars in some of my images is for purely artistic reasons. I've been moving away from attempting to capture and process stars so that they are overly amplified. I've excepted light pollution and city glow and try to incorporate it. Sometimes I like to brightness only the few stars I captured for artistic effect. I will look into the filters...

comment How can I fix the overly-bright background in my landscape photo?
I like the shot. Having the bottom a little darker really grounds the photo. The brighter top part of the photo is not blown out and has a lot of nice detail and contrast. The only think maybe I personally would to is dodge the person feeding the birds so that she "pops" a little more. Furthermore, the top looks (to me) exotic and interesting so my eyes wondered there for a while then i noticed the subject feeding the birds which added another point of interest...
