Photographer, tech head, and extreme sport enthusiast.

I'm an amateur who likes to shoot everything from portraits to landscapes. My favorite venues are half way up a 14k mountain, Ontario in Fall, and the Mediterranean at sunset.

I love talking technology, new equipment, and Canon lenses.

comment How does digital compare to film now?
@TFuto - Your points may be a basis for a fair question that shows some research and understanding of the basics. As is, this question does not do either. Maybe something along the lines of "how does digital vs film compare in relation to the sensitivity to monochromatic light..." but frankly I don't understand that so I can't speak more to it :)

comment How does digital compare to film now?
This question is extremely broad. How does digital compare to film for what use case? Low light photography? High resolution photography? High dynamic range photography? Off the grid/on the grid? Price? Size/weight? Long exposure or extremely fast action? As is this question could be answered a 100 different ways so it is too broad.

comment Why are my pictures so shakey?
Pictures aren't shaky, your camera is. Try a tripod or faster shutter speed.

comment How to photograph a lightbulb?
I would shoot the bulb with no housing around it(just bare bulb in as small of a base as possible) and with either a black or white background.

comment How can I make a picture like this one of a bridge in green landscape seem less plain?
@RussellMcMahon - I wasn't trying to be brash but the original question did ask "Is this landscape photo boring" and mentioned "Any comments is welcome.". They weren't asking if this picture properly represented their own memory, they were asking if it was boring... i.e. interesting or not to me the viewer.

comment How can I make a picture like this one of a bridge in green landscape seem less plain?
It is just a big blob of green leaves. The bridge is what is interesting and it doesn't fill enough of the frame. It seems like the bridge might be crossing a great void, but I can't see any of it. The dirt at the bottom right of the image doesn't add much. Finally, I don't think you have any true white or black in this image.

comment Canon t3 screen issue
So have you reset to factory settings? Are you in live view or not? Have you looked at the shutter box for obstructions or issues? Can you take a picture of the LCD screen for us to see?

comment Not able to achieve shallow dof with aperture of f/4 in nikond5200
To calculate the depth of field we would need to know what your focal length is. It would also be immensely helpful to simply post an image since this question is about photography afterall. Another option is to use a DOF calculator yourself, here dofmaster.com/dofjs.html

Do you already have a camera? What lenses do you have? Are you willing to buy one? What budget? Please clarify. You might also just want to browse the Macro tag here and learn a bit - photo.stackexchange.com/questions/tagged/macro

comment Going to Italy - My 7d needs a wide angle lens
I'd get the 10-22mm. It's great and fun for landscapes. If you don't need ultrawide you could get rid of the 18-135 and get the 17-55mm too.

comment Gopro (Hero 2) auto exposure settings and angle settings
So your question is "How does using less than all(or different amounts) of a sensor impact exposure?"? If so I think this may help you: photo.stackexchange.com/questions/7800/…

comment Is this file size adequate for jpeg images?
Looks normal to me, you are getting a bit of pixelation but at PS Level 8 you should be fine. 960px isn't huge but for web viewing might be exactly what you want. It certainly is too small for printing though if you intend to do that.

comment Why can't I shoot continously with my Nikon DSLR?
Describing what mode you are in on the main mode dial would be helpful. What AutoFocus mode are you in(or manual mode)? Are you in a continuous mode as it notes on page 65 of your manual? Finally, have you looked at page 54 of your manual? What about that(if anything) does not make sense? Does this happen with other lenses?
