Software architect and developer. I use a variety of technologies but at work it's generally C++, HTML, ASP (JScript), Flex, and SVG. For personal stuff, I tend to use PHP, C#, perl, and everything I use at work. :)

I've been designing and developing for well over a decade in the enterprise software market, first with IP billing, now with ticketing (no, not TicketMaster). I'm a classic case of a jack-of-all-trades, but my intuition is good and I pick up programming languages like a sponge picks up water.

For fun, I'm an avid amateur photographer and especially enjoy nature and macro photography. I've also started getting into more studio oriented stuff, acquiring some lighting, background stands, and other gadgets for that purpose. My current weapon of choice is the Nikon D800. Check out my website for some of my photography DIY projects, some of which have been featured on the well-known DIY Photography site.

I don't think you updated Photoshop to CS5 or CS6, which is what you need to do if you want to do this there. As a positive spin to that, CS5/6 have added some very nice features for Photographers. Worth the upgrade in my opinion.

I have to agree with Matt. The original question is also more generic, so a better fit.

comment Whats the approximate aperture of a pinhole camera?
@bRadGibson - I got my diameter from a quick Google search, so subject to inaccuracy. However, the math is good. :)

comment How can I recreate this glowing light effect?
@dpollitt - Looks like the original photographer has since gone missing. art-spire.com/en/photographie/jogiart-fabia-light (the image is all over the place, but not usually mirrored as this version is) and the Deviant Art account has been deactivated.

comment What do you take on a hike as a landscape photographer?
Are there things that you're specifically interested in? I assume you already have a camera and some lenses, so is this about other gear such as tripod, filters, etc?

The link above probably does answer your question, though this isn't really a duplicate.

comment Does Rear Sync really help background exposures in darker rooms?
Except for the fact by uploading he effectively re-licensed the images.
