revised What 300mm lens to get for my Nikon camera for wildlife photography in a national park?
Added note that autofocus speed also takes a hit when a teleconverter is used

comment Is it possible to sync title and description from Flickr to Lightroom?
Maybe! I haven't checked this in 4.3, maybe they've done it already..

comment How do I plan a successful set of travel photographs?
You might find this book useful: Travel Photography: A Guide to Taking Better Pictures (Lonely Planet How to Guides) by Richard l'Anson. It covers technique, which you may not want or need, but also has many tips about travel photography logistics.

comment Rename files in Lightroom during export
You can't put this mapping in the EXIF somewhere instead? If you could, then the exporter could use that as part of a custom name.

comment Printing large (16x20 and up) with the Olympus OM-D EM-5?
@dbigca, it was because I wanted to ask a couple of questions to try to clarify it a bit. By the way your answer is far more concise than I would have managed! Cheers.

I can't agree with all of this .. the 7D's autofocus performance is miles better than the 5D II in a lot of wildlife situations, for one thing. But also, I don't think the sensor is as inferior to the 5D II as you say. I have both and use the 5D most of the time and the 7D for wildlife/sports.

comment In food photography (using a nifty fifty lens) how can I make my food shot more in focus and not blurry?
Nice shot. In my opinion you should stick the focus on the garnish on the front plate - it appears to be on the frontmost piece of multicoloured fabric. Then experiment with stopping down as others have mentioned. I'm no food or product photographer but I find with wildlife, if I have the point of maximum focus exactly on the creature's eye, I can get away with a shallower depth of field than you'd expect. Also, if you're using a tripod, use live view with maximum magnification to get your focus exactly where you want it.

16MP will give you about 225 pixels per inch for a 16 x 20 print - that's usually considered enough for normal viewing distances. The G2 was giving you ~195 PPI for the same size image - normally that would be just enough, too. Are you sure that lens wasn't letting down the G2? Did you try it stopped down quite a bit to test it?

comment Canon GP-E2 GPS error on Canon 7d
I don't have direct experience of this. But I'd try a different CF card just to rule that out.

What firmware have you got installed on the 7D?

comment Will a third-party tripod mount collar hold my lens securely?
Can you post a link to the compatibles or let us know the names? (That mounting ring fits more than one Canon lens, I think.)
