comment Is there any difference in image stabilization in smartphone camera and DSLR camera?
Smartphone lenses certainly aren't much wider than those Sony/Canon 10-18mm APS-C zooms, e.g. iPhone lenses have even tighter field of view than the long end of those zooms. Canon does offer wide stabilized primes (24mm, 28mm, 35mm), so perhaps it's not that similar to Nikon regarding the topic here.

Actually the Nikon's lineup does include a 16-35 FX VR wide zoom lens. Canon and Sony provide stabilization on APS-C zooms with wider end at 10mm. Pentax stabilizes any lens that mounts. So the feature is available on DSLRs for even wider focal lengths, and considered useful in situations where subject allows for a longer exposure.

comment How can I compare 'super-zoom' lenses to make up my mind which one I should buy?
I don't think there are any f/2.8 superzoom lenses. If you are going to suggest another category, why would you exclude prime lenses?

comment What is bokeh, exactly?
Does the term refer strictly to quality of background blur, or would foreground blur also qualify?

comment Will any non-AF lens work on a Nikon camera with built in AF already in the camera body?
On a Nikkor lens, letter G indicates that the lens communicates focus distance and does not have an aperture ring. It does not tell anything about presence or absence of internal focusing motor. There are plenty of G lenses with focusing motor and there are also AF lenses without motor and without letter G. Presence of in-lens focusing motor is indicated by letters AF-I or AF-S. And no, not all current lenses have built in motors, some are still relying on body to provide AF motor (e.g. Nikkor AF 16mm f/2.8D) and some even completely manual focus (e.g. Nikkor 50mm f/1.2).

comment Why is AF slow in Live View on DSLRs?
@kazanaki Yes, by using contrast detection AF they face the same problems. In the 4 years since this question was asked, several DSLR and mirrorless models have appeared that use hybrid AF alleviating the slowness by using phase detection AF sensors embedded in imaging sensor for quickly providing rough focus match which can then be fine-tuned by contrast detection.
