What is a Cheap (less than USD50) Piece of Kit would make a Good Gift for a Photographer? The viewfinder on my entry-level Nikon D3100 is too small for me to achieve good manual focus. With an advanced viewfinder with microprism focusing, this may be a good idea, but for most people it's just no good. |

Why are those green spots on my photo? Cheap UV filters do more harm than good: lenstip.com/113.24-article-UV_filters_test_Tiffen_72mm_UV.html |

Why is there a subtle shadow glow around the subject with large aperture? Thanks. I noticed the same effect on a couple of other photos with small depth of field; it probably just shows up better because the background is more homogeneous and subtle gradients are more obvious. |

How to take pictures in a dark room? Thought the question was about taking pictures where you're trying to develop film. :\ |

What is the advantage to back-button autofocus? Is this the same as the "AE/AF lock" on my Nikon D3100, or is it something available on pro-model DSLRs? |
