Architectural photography: Upgrade path from a 1000D? Yes I totally understand that limitations. But in my opinion Canon made a better choice for a "all purpose" full frame camera by choosing less pixels (22mp), and a 100% coverage eyepiece for a good balanced price. After all it is not only the quantity of megapixels which make the good quality of a camera like the compact with their 20x zoom... |

Architectural photography: Upgrade path from a 1000D? Yes I agree that technically they are very good, but for a semi-pro level camera (within their price range) it is just for me unacceptable to have not a 100% coverage and the speed to be so slow (d800). I assume my subjective point of view becasue I am not a professional who can own all the nikon cameras for each purpose but I heard the same comments from other users as well, then I am not alone thinking that. |

What do all those cryptic number and letter codes in a lens name mean? In the Nikon section you forgot as well the PC and PC-E features for Perspective Control and E for Electornic diaphragm (to be confirmed) |

What do all those cryptic number and letter codes in a lens name mean? You forgot the Nikon AF-D types which take the distance in consideration (especially when using a flash). They are the second generation AF lenses (just after the AF and before the AF-S). Otherwise the answer can be taken as a reference. |

What's a good Nikon lens (DX) for a serious hobbyist landscape photographer? +1 for mentioning the excellent Tokina 11-16. However for landscape I would go with a standard zoom as well (like the 16-85mm) because the 11-16mm is very wide and sometimes there is just nothing to put on the foreground. |
