Side note: Why has this question gotten 4 additional answers in the past few hours? Was it featured somewhere? This question is a year and a half old!

It was a toss-up between your answer and the one I accepted - thank you both for the info!

Indeed I did, and I'm glad you covered all the bases.

Looks like the Nikon adapter that Lensbaby sells would be the best option in terms of price ($2k for a lens, Nikon, really? Unbelievable!). Thanks!

comment What's the performance difference between a class 4 and class 6 SDHC card?
Thanks for clarifying my post. I knew what I meant, I probably just didn't type it right. :P

comment Why does my Nikon D90 have a “Job nr” error?
So it can be turned off, then, I see. Would you recommend I leave it on? Does it make that much of a difference? I'm sort of an impatient person, and having to wait twice as long per exposure is difficult for me, so I'd rather turn off the NR feature if it's not really useful.

comment What are good photography projects?
Similarly, Kevin Clarke did this with a red couch, and subsequently published an art book about it. I find it fascinating. - amazon.com/Red-Couch-Portrait-America/dp/0912383054

comment Digital Camera for Grandpa
In my experience the Easy Share cameras are mediocre, but I did just purchase an Eye-Fi card for my D90 and I love it. I will say this about it: The setup is somewhat complicated, but when you have everything set where you want it, it works wonders. :)

comment What tagging system do you use?
Tags are always a difficult thing to master. I always find it's best to ask yourself, "What would someone be searching for if they wanted to find this picture?", and then add the appropriate tags accordingly.

Good question, been wondering this myself.

comment Cause of grainy photos?
I rarely use the Live View on my D90, I don't like it, I find it too slow for focusing and way too slow on the shutter speed (since it has to close first, and then re-open it). I always use the viewfinder. ;)

Thanks! This was what I was looking for (minus the part about the sensor size, since I can't really replace or do anything about that :P).

So a better lens will help, but not by a lot? I figured as much. I've read online the stock D90 lens isn't really all that great... perhaps I'll invest in the Nikon 18-200mm lens... I hear it's much better for general-purpose shooting. I'll also tweak the ISO settings on my camera a bit, too, I didn't realize it had that much of an impact on the quality. Thanks.

comment Cause of grainy photos?
I'm not zooming for composition, I'm zooming simply to view the quality of the image at its original resolution (not shrunk down). The amount of noise when viewing the image at its full resolution at 100% zoom was rather large, which is why I asked about it.

Wow, this isn't looking too good, is it :P
