comment Raw vs Jpeg for non-professional use
It would be great if you could add a specific example of what you could not do with the jpegs. Thanks!

comment Raw vs Jpeg for non-professional use
Might I disagree with the space argument. I'm an extremely casual photographer, and my jpeg-only collection currently weights in at 50GB. (including a very few raws). If all that were raw too, it'd be like x4 ... 200 GB, and while that's no problem on a single disc, it does get annoying to properly backup it. (And I like to make sure that my family photos are properly backed up. :-) )

comment What quality to choose when converting to JPG?
"... keep a JPG that will be almost as big as the original RAW ..." +1 for Olin's answer that shows that even a 100% JPEG can/should be noticeable smaller that RAW.

Out of curiosity, what shutter speed do you get at ISO 100k ??

comment Is there a one-click technique to create a “better” JPEG from RAW than the in-camera JPEG?
Thanks for highlighting that "more dramatic" doesn't necessarily mean "better". (I was and am ware aware of this, that's why I but "better" in quotes in the question.)

@dpollitt - I really don't mind the software. Would any answer be very software specific? Maybe possible answers would include the "best" software for "one-click".

comment What is noise in a digital photograph?
I'm not going to upvote this atm., but I find the (over)simplified statement about the two kinds of noise not too bad. If the stuff about the Nikon is removed, I think this could be a helpful if oversimplified answer :-)
