- amateur filmmaker and photographer
- decades of software engineering
- limited aspects of electronic engineering
Some of my proudest images are video shot while scuba, particularly in the Galapagos and Palau.

What can you do with embedded GPS locally? Maybe post a raw photo so I can see if any of my software knows what to do with the GPS info? |

Should I use Manual or (semi-)automatic mode for timelapse in changing light? I agree. It would be better to capture each scene with a full dynamic range. If there are exposure artifacts or side effects (like graininess at night), those can be better addressed in post. |

How do I copyright my photographs? A copyright lawyer I worked with decades ago was very specific about a required legal copyright label: Copyright © 2011 My Name For linear typing systems (c) might be acceptable instead of ©. This has four elements: 1) the word Copyright, 2) the copyright symbol, 3) year of publication, 4) the owner. If any element is missing, the copyright might be successfully challenged. I haven't checked if DCMA, or other recent legislation, affects this. |

How can I take pictures of far-away mountains to the South? In that situation I would expect wind to increase the number of airborne particles, not decrease it. Right after heavy rain or between rain showers when not windy would probably be best. |
