If you need EDSDK support you should mention that in your question, or just look at the list of EDSDK-supported cameras by yourself. Unless something like CHDK will do what you want.

comment Is it possible to photograph the aura of a person?
I don't think those statements are contradictory (though I, too, think auras don't exist).

comment Comparison of DOF between a 30mm f/1.4 and a 35mm f/2 lens
You should know that you won't be able to focus accurately through the viewfinder wider than about f/2.8. AF works fine, of course, and you can focus accurately using live view, but through the viewfinder you will see the scene as if the lens is set at f/2.5 or f/2.8 with the DOF Preview button pressed. Practically, this means that you'll think you're focused correctly but about half the time your subject will be just barely out of focus. I have a lot of pictures of kittens with sharp noses or shoulders and fuzzy eyes.

comment 35mm vs 40mm: Does it matter?
Ken Rockwell may not be a highly-regarded photography expert, but that's no reason to downvote this answer without a comment. As far as StackExchange answers go, this is a great one: it summarizes an external page and includes links to the source.

comment Cheapest camera possible to use for “scanning” slides using a projector and a camera
It won't be automated, but there's this: cellier.us/Photog/Slides.htm (from dpreview.com/forums/thread/3212575). KEH.com has the SX40 used for under $200. Someone else in the same thread had a link where they built a slide holder for an older P&S that couldn't focus as closely, if you already have a camera around and would prefer more DIY.

comment How can I simulate a long exposure photo using a set of shorter exposure photos?
@Michael no, because the question asked for the exact opposite: to "see the trace the stars left in the sky."
