comment What megapixel value is equivalent to which ISO film?
I think it's a valid question. Film ISO affects information capacity, as do megapixels. However, your underlying sentiment may be, megapixels basically no longer matter, and that I agree with.

+1, but I'd strengthen the last paragraph even further: buy one or two lenses by comparison, and then pick a camera that fits them. :)

Is your question the same as photo.stackexchange.com/questions/1/… ?

comment Are there any downsides to using a good-quality UV filter?
Zepp, the OP asked whether there are disadvantages to using a UV filter (which there are), not what the conclusion should be. Your answer is a perfectly valid answer to the latter question; it's just not what the OP asked. :)

Thanks! I will check it out.

comment Do super-super-lightweight tripods exist?
Thanks Jesse. That's related, but not the same question. I'm trying to find a tripod that meets the spec above, not avoid a tripod entirely.

comment Do super-super-lightweight tripods exist?
I don't think this kind of answer is very helpful. I believe it's fair for me to designate -- for meeting my own needs -- a specific weight budget for all the camera gear (2kg) and tripod specifically (500g). Keep in mind that this is backpacking, so I'm carrying up to 30kg of other stuff too. This does not make me an unserious photographer.

comment What is the best way to micro-adjust a lens?
Comparing to the chart Marc suggests, I'd give the chart itself that I suggested the advantage for two reasons: (a) "Focus here" band has slight depth (camera could focus on the top or bottom of band). (b) Chart requires you to measure your own 45 degrees. On the other hand, his doesn't require mucking around with scissors and tape to cut it out. I have no comment on the instructions & other info in Marc's PDF - they look interesting, but TLDR. :)
