comment How to focus manually with a Nikkor AF-S DX VR 50-200mm f/4-5.6G zoom lens?
@WaterCoolerv2 You will now be able to focus by rotating the front-most part of the lens barrel. Judging by the Wikipedia image it's the part highlighted here: i.stack.imgur.com/Nt8Uy.png You could confirm this by turning the lens back to AF and see which parts move while it tries to focus.

comment What are the major differences when digitizing slides/negatives with a DSLR vs. a scanner?
I've accepted this answer as it is based on real experience and especially using DSLR gear as a scanner-replacement. The other answers are at least equally great and their facts support the outcome of this answer. Thanks all a bunch :-)

comment Will I lose image quality by adjusting white balance in post processing?
True, the white balance data is in the EXIF ie. not in the actual image. With RAW, they're used in processing and with JPEG they're just nice-to-know information.

comment What kind of gloves to use for operating a camera in freezing temperatures?
Note that the particular camera model (Panasonic GF 3) — and most of the cameras with a touchscreen, anyway — has a resistive touchscreen, not capacitive. In other words that means the screen is pressure sensitive, so using non-conductive gloves wouldn't be an issue.

comment What is Fine Art Paper?
Great points about choosing paper and archiving! Many of which would be eligible for my older question, too.

Side note: leaving some parts "unghosted" might make the photos more interesting!

comment What do all the polarizing filter acronyms mean?
The alphanumeric acronyms in 1-6 and 10-11 are Wratten numbers indicating the color of the filter.

comment What are neutral density filters and how do I use them to create long exposures in daylight?
Two great answers already, but I'd also wish to hear: (1) How the NDness is achieved, how they reduce the captured light, what are the filters made of? (2) What is the common price range (in such a precision that the casual browser would know if he/she should reserve tens or hundreds of $/€).

comment How to compare two DSLR bodies?
Disclaimer: it's your site. True, it's a great site and most of the regulars know it's yours and deserves the 8 votes +1 from me, but it's nice to have a disclosure nevertheless :-)

Well, that's a familiar theme! Almost too familiar…

comment What do “Frontfocus” and “Backfocus” mean?
If using manual focus, would misaligned focusing screen cause front/back focusing problems? And how common is that; would something else be more probable? (Sorry for adding extra questions, but they seem to be relevant enough to not to post a separate question.)

… and coincidentally, about the capturing a streetlight at night: What white balance settings do I need to capture the cast of a coloured streetlight? and How does the colour of ambient lighting affect colour rendition? :-)

comment What “Top Tips” should I give compact camera users in a short talk?
@AJ what—in my experience it works more often with compacts than with DSLRs: DSLRs may have the AF-trigger set elsewhere or a manual lens attached, both of which are rather rare among compacts. I've yet to see a (digital) compact without autofocus, but your mileage may vary.

comment When to use the different modes of National PE-201C flash?
Exactly the kind of practical info I sought! I had a hunch that "green" and "red" auto modes had had been somewhat common modes among other old flashes, so I am fairly confident to follow the AF280T's manual for that bit; PE-201C manuals seem to be digitally non–existent. Thanks for the link to Pentax' manual and double–thanks for the answer :-)
