What is the meaning of having 9 focus points and how to see where they are? @Anisha There is no mention of focus points in the official specification—compare to e.g. EOS T2i/550D which is clearly stated to have 9 AF points. |

How can you reduce noise in Lightroom 3? And if, after removing color noise, the luminance noise is not "grainy" enough, you could move the luminance NR slider one step too far and then add some grain from the effects palette. Or you could omit the luminance NR and just add grain to hide the noise in plain sight. Depends on the original photo and one's taste, as always. |

What legal restrictions to photography are there in European countries? Ought to fix Wikipedia then, as the mention of anti-terror laws in the context of Panoramafreiheit is seemingly confusing. On another note, whoa, Wikimedia Commons has a fairly thorough explanation by country on the subject. |

What legal restrictions to photography are there in European countries? The Wikipedia entry you pointed to suggests both that it is OK to photograph in public indoors in the UK, but the local security guard had a reasonable suspicion that you are a terrorist. How nice! (Well if you spent half an hour photographing just the security cameras, it could be seen a bit suspicious.) @Rowland links to some good info relevant for the UK. |

Can a video camera produce a high quality still photo shoot? I've bumped to Sony NEX-VG10 which specifications sounds like it would produce decent still images (though no RAW), but I've had hard time to find still image examples — great video examples though. |

How is colour balancing performed in post processing of raw images @goldenmean I don't understand the question nor the problem: You take DNG & output BMP#1; then you modify DNG-metadata & output BMP#2; the BMPs differ—isn't that the desired effect? Which metadata did you change? How does your image processor's output differ from PS? Or are you asking for a list of all other possible tags that affect the Raw→composite processing? |

Are the colors in these pictures from retouching or color correction? Take a look at the pictures' Exif infos' on flickr: #1 and #2 They tell you exactly what camera settings the photographer was using. |

How are the red focus point indicators displayed on a dSLR's focusing screen? @Eruditass also note that focusing screen & focus point screen constructs differ between Canons: xxxxD & xxxD & 10D vs. xD & xxD. See this kawaii explanation: focusingscreen.com/work/canon_aps_docen.htm |

How can I adjust the colour temperature of an image programmatically? Raw images are always interpreted with some instruction set of which the Exif info on white balance RGGB levels are one aspect. JPGs in turn are more or less composite images in which all the info is hardcoded and edits are destructive. I can't provide good examples, but I'd dive into ImageMagick which is a command line image editor with several program interfaces. Its -color-matrix option might get you started; see also: fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/whitebalance/index.php |
