I'm now working for a group out of Plano, doing primarily front-end work for mobile and online banking for credit unions. Time for me to get involved in the local user groups!

You probably want to gmail me if you need me directly. If I have to tell you what gmail address to guess at, you're not trying hard enough.

See, this is why we need SE sites, and I am in a bit of awe of what you guys know about this stuff. Trust me I'll be reading through here from time to time. Which software could I use for periodic bulk image resizing? @Sam Saffron ~ Any reason for a ruby script? Will this be hosted on a website? This is the sort of thing best run through cron I would think... |

Which software could I use for periodic bulk image resizing? ~ Is that only because of the desire to reduce time to process? I'm thinking that using some sort of linux based system will work out better in the long run because of the command-line image manipulation activities that are already written for Linux systems. |

What's the best technique and kit for taking a picture of the Milky Way in a nearly pitch black landscape? I was just thinking to try it with a tripod mount and a timer at first, but I'm kinda new at this stuff so figured half the fun was in the experimenting :D |

What's the best technique and kit for taking a picture of the Milky Way in a nearly pitch black landscape? So are long exposures necessary? I realize that I'm just wanting to go back and capture something that I've already idolized (but boy is it worth it) but I think it's pretty well observed already that I don't know what I need for this. Will I need to use motorized equipment for something like this, or only for "pro photography" type shots? |

Which software could I use for periodic bulk image resizing? Where are your pictures stored and where are you likely to need the conversion? Windows or Linux? That would make some slight difference. Are you ok with deleting all the existing pictures before creating new ones? Should it be creating a new folder structure as it duplicates? |
