I am a floor-level three-shift factory worker by profession. My hobbies are reading, photography and living in peace. Most of my free time I spend at summer cottage which is a winterproof house and should be called our 2nd home instead. I have a family, including two kids, two dogs and five cats.

While I list photography as a hobby, I don't mean I am a good photographer. I just like to use a camera and record a memory of things I see around me. Been doing this since I was 14 years old and I'm not any sort of enthusiast about it. I just like it :)

+1 for mentioning the only weakness. Mine is a bit off. What can cause different aberration on left side and right side of photo? I bought the lens online and I guess it received a hit in mail.

Yeah, not much coma in the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm lens. You can check for yourself from this poor weather star photo far from anything good, but at least it confirms no coma: full resolution fine jpeg (12 MB).

And it is the Samyang 14mm f/2.8 lens in this question about adjusting focus ring. Focusing a manual focus lens is so much more easy than what it is to manually focus an AF lens.

comment Will remote shutter releases stop and start video?
It depends on the camera in question and possibly on the abilities of the remote device, since there are several of those too.

comment How can I identify duplicate image files?
Google detect duplicate images actually works as promised. There is a good number of such software to be found. Can you recommend anything else than Picasa?

They know about Exif too, in SO. Though they call it metadata over there.

@Erin - Just a moment ago I tried this "If you plug the camera in to a TV via HDMI, then for most cameras, whatever would normally show up on the LCD should be displayed on the TV and the controls on the camera will function as normal." and it works as it should on a cheap Sony SLT model. Using the camera, taking photos and seeing it all on TV like in LiveView display; all OK.

comment Photo stretched at corners?
@happyCoder_ My mistake here was that I never thought there are real wide angle lenses without any distortion to speak of. In my mind all wide angle lenses show a variety of distortions which are then corrected after the image is captured.

comment What do Pentax, Sony, and Olympus DSLRs offer that differs from Canon and Nikon?
Too broad. In order to answer this thoroughly one should have knowledge of Sony, Pentax and Olympus cameras throughout their models, AND then also good knowledge of Canon and Nikon models in order to tell what is different and what is not among all these brands. What more, not only the answerer needs all this information, but also those who vote should know these things well enough to be able to upvote a good answer.
