@blake a manual for your camera says "Exposure Compensation Press "+/-" button by shutter-release and rotate main command dial." I strongly recommend you experiment with it, it's a great first step.

@blake since they were steady, you could chimp the photos (take a pic, look at LCD) and adjust your EV. That's pretty easy and fast.

comment Where to announce or release 'opensource' photos
indeed. My Wikimedia photos are where I get usage/attribution requests the most.

comment How to resize RAW image files without converting to JPEG?
the idea of 'raw' is that it's the source file.

comment Camera on boat worth the risk?
I'm more than happy to use an expensive camera and lens when I'm doing adventurous activities. Why? I can afford to lose it/replace it. There's an old line: "if you can't afford two Ferraris, you can't afford one."

comment Will the vibrations of a motorcycle be harmful to a DSLR?
I am a motorcyclist who has done cross-country and multi-continent trips. A SLR in your tail (trunk) will rattle the hell out of it if you travel on varied road surfaces. This is from experience. Many adventure riders put their camera in the tankbag because there's much less vibration; easier to get stolen though. If you are doing "goldwing touring" (interstate), it's not a big deal. (sorry, not willing to do a full answer)

comment AC charger with battery to work on-the-go?
that does 12v and 19v. I bet you can find a cigarette/12V charger for your camera on ebay. The only thing remaining is to find the perfect tip that hooks into the charger. This is a fairly generic charger that includes a "car outlet". Just replace that cord with the XP18000. Here's another option (better option, imho). Again, just get a tip for the XP18000.
