comment Can I safely use my camera with a external power supply?
In fact, there is no physical conector, just a hole in the battery lid. And I'm in Argentina, so there is no way to buy that kit in Amazon, they don't ship here!

Sory for the last comment, I didn't read the first one.

comment Should I turn off optical image stabilisation when shooting long-exposure photos?
It's likely that my camera doesn't even care about deactivating the IS system if it is on. Just think, that camera is so not pro that if the LCD backlight turns off (after a selected time), settings like manual zoom just reset!

What about using the voltage regulator and a diode in serial connection to drop 0.7 V. Is that valid?

comment How to fill my time-lapse video with more frames?
@drewbenn You were right, the DFS is enabled by default, but I managed to disable it with CHDK, the photo appears instantly after the shutter closes. It was weird for me, how can a DIGIC IV be so slow? Now the photos are superfast!

It might be that, but since I'm not shooting in RAW, that option is disabled (AFAIK). Without CHDK, my camera let me take a 15s photo and the processing time is almost the same. It seems like Canon has a built in DFS function for long exposures...

That's a good idea, but I want something easier. Those frames can perfectly be generated with a codec so I'll see how to do it. And, twixtor doesn't have Linux version.

Already tought about that, but I want something reversibly (not like soldering the bare leads), so I have to figure out a good way to do it. Probably make a piece of plastic with the same size of the battery, stick some contacts to it and take out the wires trough the middle of the "fake" battery.

comment How does the human eye compare to modern cameras and lenses?
I've made the first question, but I deleted my self because some users started to complain about its subjectivity. I'm glad you could ask the same question in a way nobody complains!

I'm already using it with the IS deactivated. The battery lasts much longer. And I don't know what that has to do with this, but the camera also processes long exposure images way faster.

And how would you power that camera for several months?!

comment Is there a way to export Lightroom's thumbnails whatever the resolution they are?
Like seanmc said, you might be able to recover those files, but if you keep using the computer, other files will be written over the space where the photos are. When you deleted those photos, they weren't gone, you just couldn't see them.
